Liu Chang obtained Bachelor of Arts in 2018 from Jiangsu Normal University, China, Master of Fine Arts in 2021 from the Institute of Brand and Communication, School of Journalism and Communication, Shandong University, China, and PhD in Arts and Design from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia.
During her academic journey, she participated in various international cultural exchange programmes, including study visits to Niigata University and University of Tokyo in Japan during her undergraduate studies, and academic exchanges at Macau University of Science and Technology, Stanford University, and University of California, Berkeley during her master’s studies. She also participated in the Sino-German cultural exchange programme “Global Humanities in International Exchange” and contributed to the exhibition “Patterns of Humanity in Qingdao.”
During her doctoral studies, she has published five academic papers, with two appearing in SSCI-indexed journals. She presented her research at the prestigious AHFE International Conference on Applied Human Factors and Ergonomics. Her research has gained international recognition, with Packaging Insights featuring her work under the title “Multidimensional brand experience: Design researcher talks simplicity and authentic representation.” Her research interests span the intersection of packaging design, visual communication, and consumer behaviour, with a particular focus on systematic design methodologies and quantitative research approaches.
